1) MOUSE TIPS!

I have also created a web page with one hand mousing tips!

http://www.aboutonehandtyping.com/mice.html

To save the strain on my wrist, and forearms - yes, after 30 years of being a compulsive and passionate typist for MANY hours every day I do get strain - I use all kinds of keyboard lifts, and pillows. I had a friend make me a big bean bag for my mouse, it looks like a holder for a VERY high heeled shoe. It is 13" from back to front, 6 inches tall in the middle, and 6 inches wide. My wrist rests at the very top, the hand hanging over, laying on top of a Kensington Mouse trackball. I use my left, my less able hand, to Mouse. Most track balls are ONLY for the right hand. Kensington goes for either hand.

If you don't have a way to create your own bean bag, I have seen one product that you might try,

Fellowes Easy Glide Wrist Rest and Mouse Pad

Amazon Price: $17.94

However, if I was using that one, I would need to add something in the middle, to LIFT the BACK of my track ball UP. I have the least pain when the track ball slants downwards at 45 degrees. Experiment to see what works for you!

3) Great Ideas!

Are you a one hand typist at work? ASK for a telephone headset! You can type away with ease as you talk to customer, if you use a one. They are not expensive, and a great asset.

A rehab therapist called me to order a typing manual. BTW, we seem to be getting tons of orders for the manual in MS Word, rather than the PDF. That was a great idea given to me by an e-book specialist, Wayne Perkins! Thank you :) Anyway, this rehab person said I was one of the few who was telling the world to tilt the front (the long end closest to your stomach) of the keyboard up, so it slops down in the back. He said that is what he had been saying for years! But, he uses those inexpensive rubber door stops! Says they work perfect! Who would have thought? Well, he did, and now you and I can too.

I see one at Amazon for $1.69! <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004YOHN/waltersspeakerse/107-6262436-9240515>Click here to see it,

There are a ton of books with "One hand clapping," in the title, the term is a Zen term. According to my friend Ron, a expert in these things explains, "My interpretation is that there is activity but it will not be evidenced by others unless there is a balance, that is, another hand to interact with it. The person clapping will be feeling appreciation or joy, but no-one else will know."

5) WARM HEARTED STORY

(sorry, we don't know where this came from! Email me if you know)

-A few years ago, at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash. At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win.

All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back.... every one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, "This will make it better." Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several minutes.

People who were there are still telling the story. Why? Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course. If you pass this on, we may be

able to change our hearts as well as someone else's.

"A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle."
